SLO \/\/SALON SAUVIGNON 2022 \/\/ Art & Wine festival<\/strong><\/p>\n Sauvignons and Cabernet Sauvignons \/\/ Master Class \/\/ Fine Food \/\/ Exhibitions Stories of Chairs and Wine and Art \/\/ Concert: Ditka<\/strong><\/p>\n Dominican Monastery Ptuj \/\/ Saturday 7 May 2022 \/\/13:00 - 20:00<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n On Saturday 7 May, the Salon Sauvignon 2022 International Festival returned to its old home: the charismatic Dominican Monastery of Ptuj.<\/p>\n Ptuj, a picturesque medieval town surrounded by vineyards, hosted it again in its eighth edition.<\/p>\n On Saturday 7 May, over sixty winemakers and other top exhibitors from Slovenia and the neighbouring region presented themselves in the Gothic cloisters of the Dominican Monastery in Ptuj. Visitors, over six hundred of them, could enjoy wines in the mile of the restored art historical monument and socialise in the south courtyard, where there was also a closing concert by the outstanding musical artist Ditka.<\/p>\n The organiser has once again included visual arts in the festival environment, this time with Stories of Chairs, created by Ptuj high school students under the mentorship of Du\u0161an Fi\u0161er, an academic painter, and the photographic exhibition Wine and Art, created within the framework of the project of the same name, supported by European and Ministry of Culture funds.<\/p>\n The culinary event, prepared for both omnivores and vegans, was organised by Gostilna Ribi\u010d and Zavoda Na. The festival's gastronomy is sponsored by Perutnina Ptuj.<\/p>\n Salon Sauvignon, in cooperation with KGZ Slovenia - Zavod Ptuj, held the festival's expert evaluation for the fifth time before the main festival event on Wednesday 4 May. It was chaired by Andrej REBERNI\u0160EK<\/strong>, Director of KGZ Slovenia - Zavod Ptuj.<\/p>\n The two expert panels, which evaluated nearly 100 samples, were joined by Dr Klemen LISJAK, <\/strong>a world-class and internationally renowned expert on this very variety. Dr Lisjak was also the host of this year's Master Class, which pitted the best sauvignons and cabernet sauvignons of this year's judging against selected sauvignons from around the world. He was joined by Dr. Erich LEITNER<\/strong>, a renowned international wine expert from neighbouring Austria.<\/p>\n The title of champion went to Sauvignon 2021, Vina Bra\u010dko, which is also the champion in the dry wine category. The runner-up in the aged category is the Sauvignon premium from the barrel of Vina Leber 2019, dry. The champion in the Cabernet Sauvignon category is Cabernet Sauvignon Bagueri 2017, dry.<\/strong><\/p>\n Both the festival judges and the Master Class participants enjoyed the wines from exquisite, handmade Armonia tasting glasses from Steklarna Roga\u0161ka.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The festival is sponsored by the Municipality of Ptuj. He was joined by Dr Erich LEITNER<\/strong>, a renowned international wine expert from neighbouring Austria.<\/p>\n The title of champion went to a 2021 Sauvignon, Vina Bra\u010dko; it was also the champion in the category of dry wines. The champion of matured wines is a premium Sauvignon from the barrel Vina Leber 2019, dry. The winner in the Cabernet Sauvignon category is Cabernet Sauvignon Bagueri 2017, dry. <\/strong><\/p>\n Both the evaluators of the festival evaluation and the participants of the Master Class enjoyed the wines from top-quality, handmade Armonia tasting glasses from Steklarna Roga\u0161ka (Roga\u0161ka Glassworks).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The festival's major sponsor is the City Municipality of Ptuj.
