Pulec Estate is located in the village of Plešivo, right on the border with Italy, where the sunny hills of the Goriška Brda Mountains begin to descend into the Friuli plain. The family's vineyards are spread out over several of Brda's best sites: in Plešivo, where the fluvial deposits are at their optimum and give rise to high extraction in the wines, especially the yakote and the rebula, and in the heart of the Brda region, in Vedrijano, where the laporous soil, known locally as 'opoka', combined with the altitude, gives the best acidity to the wine. In these ideal conditions for growing vines, the Pulec family has been producing top quality wines for generations. Master Class. This year's lecturers will be Associate Prof. Dr. Klemen Lisjak and Associate Prof. Dr. Guillaume Antalick. They will be joined by a guest, Univ. Prof. DI Dr techn. Prof. Erich Leitner from the University of Graz, Austria. At this year's Master Class, we will taste and compare this year's top-rated festival sauvignons, the French from the Loire, the New Zealand and the Austrian. From a scientific and technical point of view, we will compare the aromatic composition of this aromatic variety. We will also discuss the modern winemaking technologies that are being applied to the vinification of sauvignons.
