"The Metropol City Café is a well-known café in Celje, in a location in the city centre for the last half century. We can say that it is a café with a tradition.
Together with the cinema, they form a beautiful story that Celjanians follow faithfully.
The entire building is a true architectural gem, designed by the renowned Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik.
Located along one of the city's liveliest streets in the very centre of the Princely City, it has recently been renovated and has come back to life, enriching and enlivening the city's everyday life.
As a café, we cater for our guests with hot drinks, soft drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, snacks and desserts.

You are cordially invited to one of the most picturesque city centres in Slovenia on Saturday 10 September - the Celje 2022 Promenade of Tastes, at a time when the vineyards surrounding the city smell sweetly of the sweetness of ripe grapes.
This Saturday, we will explore the Princely City with a wine tasting glass in hand from 2 pm until sunset at 8 pm.
What does the Celje 2022 Promenade of Flavours have to offer?
- top wines from the vineyards surrounding Celje, from Styria and Slovenia.
- fine cuisine from Celje's gastronomic houses.
