Dr Paul J. White's training in critical wine assessment began as the head of the Oxford University Blind Wine Tasting Team in the 1980s. Since then he has travelled to over sixty wine regions and has judged at over sixty wine appraisals on six continents. Throughout his career as a wine journalist he has written for magazines, newspapers and websites in the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Spain, Belgium and Russia, including World of Fine Wine, Slow Wine and Decanter.
His interest in Sauvignon Blanc dates back to the sauvignons of Robert Mondavi in the early 1970s, through the revolutionary Kiwi 'Savvys' that emerged in the late 1980s.
Dr Paul J. White has been Senior Taster and member of the Board of Directors of the Concours Mondial du Sauvignon for the last ten years.
